Black Bean Veggie Burgers



These Black Bean Veggie Burgers are a delicious and nutritious meatless alternative. Packed with flavor and protein, they are perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans 15 oz each black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese optional
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments for toppings

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mash one can of black beans with a fork or potato masher

Add the second can of black beans to the bowl along with breadcrumbs, chopped onion, red bell pepper, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, cilantro, and grated cheddar cheese if desired

Mix everything until well combined

Divide the mixture into 4 portions and shape them into burger patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray

Cook the veggie burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and heated through

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned

Assemble your veggie burgers with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments
