Macau // Day 2
Sunday, September 27, 2015 • 9:51 PM • 0 comments

Casino? Gambling?
We, Singaporeans will think about Genting
since it is close by
and we don't have to pay an entrance fee of $100

There's a better place out there,
with tons and tons of casino to choose from.
Themes, popularity, architecture
you can choose whichever you want to gamble in.

Or ,
for my case...
just looking around.

Continuing from the post,

On the second day,
we went on a one day trip to MACAU~~

Woke up, brush my teeth, dress up, put on some makeup
and we're all set to go.

I guess I was feeling ambitious that day with my make up looking like that.
Macau was so hot.
I guess I was lucky my makeup didn't melt?

What was I thinking?
Well, I learnt my lesson and
decided that I should be less ambitious.

Hunted for a spot with good lighting to take some selfie to show you guys my morning self.
"Hey guys, finally I'm waking up in the morning at 6am"

A photo before we head off
Oops*
The tissue...

We're going on a trip
on our favourite rocket ship train
Okay, I'm just really excited.

When we were taking this photo together, she feels that i'm too flashy and was attracting stares from people. Which made her feel uncomfortable.
Welcome to my world.
Passerbys are always curious.
Probably wondering if it's a wig or not.
But hey it's real hair. Can't you see the black roots?

I dyed my hair black about a month ago ,
but i'm probably changing my hair colour again after my hair condition gets better.
Still as damaged but way better than the time when i bleached my hair white.
Bleaching my hair white myself was a bad decision.

Bought tickets for the ferry to Macau,
and there's still sometime before our scheduled timing.
Gonna chill at the waiting area , fiddling with my phone since there's wifi.
Wifi is life~

In a few minutes, it's time to get on the ferry.
My dad was glad to have wifi since he gets to play slotomania throughout the ride.

When we got out of the arrival hall,
tons of people were gathering near the entrance, which turns out to be tour guides.
One of them approached us and briefed us about the places he can cover.

With some reluctance, we accepted his deal since he emphasised that he will be able to go along with our schedule.
Personally, i prefer to tour on our own but it's more convenient to have a tour guide with a transport
to drive us around.

Despite having a tour guide, i'm having problems with places' names.
I can't understand Cantonese and my chinese isn't all that great either.
I wound up being a lost lamb.
So i apologise if i don't know the name of the place.

The journey started with the hunt for the Pork Chop Bun.
It was said to be a must-try when you travel to Macau.

The first restaurant we went to  (? i don't know if they call it a restaurant or not, but well...)
sells Pork chop buns along with something like a milk pudding.
I still don't know the given name of the pudding.

After a few bites of the Pork Chop bun, i didn't find it impressive.
Turns out that the shop is known for the pudding.
The famous Pork chop bun was located at another place which we visited later in the day.

The milk pudding was unlike  any milk pudding i have ever tasted before.
 i kinda liked it,being not-too-sweet and tasty.
However, some may choose to eat it along with ginger.
My mum said it was to get rid of a strong stench of milk or something like that.
Ginger is never an option for me.
I'm totally okay with the milk pudding, i didn't taste any weird stench or anything.
(Personal preferences)
or it's just my taste buds

Surprisingly,
just a Pork chop bun (even though we shared) and a bowl of milk pudding got me feeling all bloated.
It's time for a stroll along the street before meeting up with the tour guide again.

The weather is so hot, the sun is glaring.
Can't help but squint my eyes.

The journey continues on with a museum at the top of the "hill"

My family decided we tour the area from the top to the bottom. We had to travel up steep slopes all throughout the journey uphill.
Luckily, the tour guide was there to drive us to the museum,
either that or I would have died from exhaustion.

Of course, there was a limit to how far the vehicle could bring us.
The rest of the journey was stairs.
Here's me getting to the goal.

I'm so thankful for the airconditioning in the museum... gosh.
The weather was scorching hot.
Well, at least rain didn't make it's appearance.
It was way hotter compared to Singapore, since there wasn't as many trees to shelter us from the blazing hot sun. Standing on the open area outside the museum feels as if we're just waiting to be barbecued.

Here's some artefacts displayed infront of the museum's entrance.

We didn't went into the main museum since the exhibition that day wasn't interesting.
So, we headed to the other exit we saw and we found a resting area filled with display of artefacts.

Items from the display cases.

When we got outside the resting area,
there were many other things waiting for us.
Mainly canons, canons.
The resting area was not the end of the adventure.

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!
It looks as if the buildings are targeted.

We spotted these bushes of topiary when we were taking a short break.
Just thinking if it meant something...
Probably trimmed randomly.

Since we are high above ground,
Took a photo of the view 🍃
Nothing much, there's just buildings everywhere.

When we were done with the area outside ,
we scanned around the area to see if there was anything thing else and we found a bomb shelter /bomb museum

There's nothing much inside but valuable historical knowledge .
Bombings , civilization changes ...
And my aunt is taking photos hahaha.
I ended up with tons of photos but, i think some was lost... somehow

As we travel down the hill,
We came by our next destination,
this remarkable church , which is now a museum .

Only the front wall was maintained and preserved.
The museum is located deep inside the church.

(This photo had a lot of likes on my Facebook thank you thank you, that was the most I ever had on my Facebook )
Candid photo at it's best ✨

This photo is taken in the mid section of the area outside the museum.
Looking great there, Sky

Here's what you'll see inside.
Holy figures duhhh
It's a church.

My aunt wanted to capture the front wall of the church.
Randomly took a candid photo while she's at it.
Whatcha think?

As we continue our journey downwards , there's tons of shophouses.
Time for some window shopping as we head closer to the famous Pork Chop bun.

Finally we got to the shop that was said to be famous for their Pork chop bun.
excited excited!!

ta-da!!

This one is tastier and crispier than the pork chop bun we had.

Here's my aunt taking the first bite 👍🏻

When i was ordering, i saw that they were selling curry fishball.
I decided to give it a try and it was one of the best decision i ever made.

It was the best curry fishball I have ever tasted. The curry was fragrant (but really spicy too). I wanted to get another bowl of it despite the hot weather but on second thought...
No... I was kinda suffering in the heat. Feeling thirsty 24/7
Probably next time~~~

Conclusion, i prefer their curry fishball.
Next time if i'm going to travel to macau again, I'm gonna enjoy a bowl of it with their fried squid.

I think the shop was located at the bottom of the hill?
Really lost or just feeling heat-dazed.

We stop by a church that my aunt said had a gorgeous interior.
Everyone was taking photos.
Wedding goals???

Photos of random buildings,

my photogenic dad.

There was a market in-between the buildings so we went to take a look and ended up shopping.
My mum said the items weren't really cheap, so she was bargaining the price for me.
I wish I know the art of bargaining

There were a few more shops so we window shopped a little bit more before we left.

When we pass by this area,
i thought it was a good spot to take photos.
Many people were taking photos here too, a good spot for taking photos I guess?
I took a photo with my parents popping out of the bushes but i can't find the photo
Probably lost with the confusion of over 400+ photos.

Let's examine the area...

This would probably make a good background.

I look so chubby in the photo

Afterwards, the tour guide drove us around.
The Buddha lotus ~
He drop us off somewhere nearby so we can take a photo.

And a visit to the Goddess.
Sorry, i kinda failed with the photo.

On your right, you can see some
Sci-fi looking thing here
that was the first thing that came into my mind when i saw that building.

My dad looking suave with the wind in his hair.

We then drop by a casino not to gamble (not yet) ,but to catch a performance?
It was said that it happens at a specific time.
We won't get to see it if we miss it.

Everyone was gathering around
 and wola

Told ya there's something

Took a photo infront of their toilet .
Prettier than the toilet i have at home.

Time for Macau tower!
As we were on our way there, the tour guide brought us to see a handful of casinos.
My dad was probably deciding which casino to gamble in. Hahaha
I took a photo of this casino cuz i find it interesting, looking like a vase

I'm on top of the world~
I'm travelling higher and higher up into the sky.

I was scared when I look down. Should I be thankful the glass is kinda stained?
I'm probably afraid of heights or the tower was too much for me.

You can walk outside the tower or do a bungee jump but sorry I'm scared.
I won't ever do anything called bungee jump.
No.
I'm probably the worst person you can bring to a theme park.

When i got down from the tower, i was having a bad headache.
Didn't have the appetite...
My parents and my aunt just taking a coffee break.
My dad can't do without coffee.

There was an Alice in the wonderland exhibition so, im just gonna go take some photos.

Alice in the wonderland -

Funny facessssssss

My mum didn't know how to take a photo with my phone so she was holding on to the snap button.
After a while, i was wondering what's taking her so long to take a photo.
That's the faces i made when i asked her
"is it done yet?"
"are you done?"
"did you get the photo?"
while posing in between the questions.

We went to a temple afterwards.
Along the pathway to the temple, the walls were painted with artworks.
Mainly to talk about courtesy and consideration.

My dad found this funny and took a photo with it.

Opposite the temple, there's a marine museum(above) that went out of business.
We can't go into the museum in the building but there's some remains of the museum outside.
So we're just gonna take some photos.

Since i didn't had anything for tea break, i was feeling hungry...
So the tour guide brought us to buy their famous egg tarts

Oh boy do i love egg tarts.
Basically i just love food with egg...
I'm not good at cooking but those that i'm slightly good at involves egg.

Egg tart is not gonna fill my tummy for long...
Finally it's time for dinner.
Oh yay
*punch fist in air*

We need to pass through this street selling tons of snacks first...

I don't know what my mum bought here but she said this shop is famous for their traditional Chinese snacks.
Well, not them i'm into chinese snacks.
I will only fight for egg biscuits.

Finally it's really time for dinner.
I'm hungry again looking at the dishes.

The main purpose of coming to this restaurant was the crab porridge but I think it's just average.
I prefer chili crab. Hahaha

But I like the tofu a lot~
It tastes really nice i don't even know how to describe it.
I have never tasted anything like that before.
It was just really good all of us just wiped the plate clean.

The meatball is nice but I can't remember what is it made of (sounds scary not knowing what you are eating)
But I remember i couldn't really stop myself from taking more.
My mum was like , hey leave some for others. *oops

After dinner
Is something i look forward to
Going to the casino
I have never been to one and was really really excited
until the tour guide said there's an age limit...
So i started coming up with schemes to fool them.

On the way to the casino,
We drove pass this castle-looking building which is a casino.
It looks like a castle in storybook that talks of prince and princess.
Can i live there?
I wanna live like a princess for a day.
Or maybe not. Hahaha.

When we got to the casino, the sun has set.
Here's night view.

Psst....
I'm in front of the Venetian here.
There's a MISSION to accomplish.
Listen closely,
(*whisper whisper*)
(....age....limit.......... Break..in)

Obviously not
I can't fool them.

I wasn't able to go into the main part of where the fun is...
Swiftly, my family walked in. Behind them, I was searching for stuffs in my bag while walking in. Almost immediately i was stopped
and was asked to show my IC. Reluctantly, I showed my IC and they politely explained about the rules.
It was the nicest rejection I ever heard.
Gosh was I smitten. I'm like okay I'm not going in till I'm 21 THEN...

Main lobby

Inner part of the accessible area if you're underage.

Looks like Venice eh?
I haven't been to Venice but my aunt who travelled there said yes.
But nothing beats the real thing, just like how fake snow never beats the real.
Oh well cheap thrills. It's cheaper to come to a casino that looks like Venice than traveling to Venice, itself. HAHAHA
But one day, i'm gonna go Venice.

Ceiling at a random part of the mall

We were window shopping while my dad was going to gamble.
So, just us girls~~
But my dad ended up not gambling, he came back pretty fast.
I thought he had enough of winning

When my dad came back afterwards. I accidentally let my dad into a shop that sells women comfy wear like compress stockings, body shaper...which were types of undergarments? And my dad was shock upon setting a foot in. Well i didn't know the shop sells those stuff...Since what was displayed outside was different...
Upon seeing the accident, my aunt laughed real hard and told me that it's bad luck to bring people who are gambling into shops like this. Sorry.. I didn't mean it. Just pure coincidence.

The toilet is gorgeous and spacious.
I took a photo of the basin area but I looked retarded in the photo so...
But the toilet is really gorgeous.
Hahaha

Selfie time

The water is so blue, it looks so fake. Hahaha

Passing by the food centre in the Casino, i found store selling Singapore cuisines ,
Well everyone says if you gonna eat Singapore's dishes anywhere else other than Malaysia it gonna disappoint you.
Have anyone tried it? I'm just so curious. Hahaha

My aunt wanted to bring us to the other side of the casino where the furnishing is gorgeous.
But i can't pass through the "fun" area so next time

Since there isn't anywhere else to go after window-shopping
it's time to go...
Waiting for the shuttle bus back to the ferry~

Took a nap on the bus, i was so tired.

When I got through the custom,
I was asked to "come over" by the officers.
I was so shocked.
I'm such a good girl why ? Hahaha

They checked my bag, and the lady officer laughed a little when she saw almost everything i had in my bag was food.
They probably thought i had drugs or something.

They were talking in Cantonese and I don't understand anything so I'm just like ????? ???????
Totally lost.
So I'm just totally reading their actions.
I don't know what they want with me.
Plus this didn't happen when i got into Macau.

Then my aunt wanted to know what was going on and I explained.
Afterwards she said it's probably my green hair cuz many drug abusers look like that.
Soooo, i was judged as a drug abuser.  Can't you see that i have a halo on me.
I found out that it was a common thing for teenagers my age there to traffick drugs. Wow
Explains a lot.

When I got back I'm so so so so so tired.
And the next day I've to wake up early to the whole new day of exploration.
It was harder for me because I'm not a morning person. But I really wish to be one #stilltrying #notgivingup
