Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 410F 210C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch together in a bowl with a whisk

Put away

Mix the cold cubed butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth and creamy

One egg at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition

Add the vanilla extract and mix well

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing only until everything is well combined

If you're using chocolate chips and chopped nuts, spread them out evenly in the dough as you fold them in

Each ball should be about 1/4 cup in size

Place them on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving some space between them

Put it in an oven that is already hot and bake it for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the middle is still soft

When you take the cookies out of the oven, let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes

Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely

Enjoy the tasty chocolate chip cookies made in the style of Levain Bakery!
